can we read shinrin as mori too? since it means the same
Thanks for the questions. Shinrin has the same meaning but it is a completely different word with two kanji. It therefore can not be read as mori.
Do Hayashis’ have a family crest or Koman?
This is a link to a Japanese website on Wikipedia that lists up family crests and the names of families that used them. Unfortunately the family name HAYASHi is not listed (but Obayashi 大林). You want to have a look yourself.
